FINALLY!!! I just finished this card. It has taken me all day because I have had so many interruptions! I spent most of this evening helping Jessie put a foam snow castle together. They claim that anyone from the ages of 4+ can put it together with the glue the company supplied. Well, she was getting so frustrated because nothing would stick together so we ended up using sticky strip and that did the trick.
Today's SCS challenge was based on using our favorite things to make a card. I really want to get my valentine cards done early this year so this challenge gave me the incentive to start them. I also utilized Taylor's sketch challenge that she posts every Friday on her blog. She has also just released some new stamps and bundles. Make sure you check them out - they are fantastic!
The stamps I used on this card are from one of my favorite stamping companies - Papertrey Ink. The owl and sentiment are from the Wise Owl stamp set and the heart image is from the Sweet Love set. I stamped the owl images in basic black on whisper white circles created from the circle nestabilities and Big Shot. They are colored in with SU! rose red and pretty in pink markers. The sentiment was stamped in basic black ink and the single heart image was stamped in rose red ink, twice. The whisper white cricles are adhered to large rose red and pretty in pink circles and popped off four rose red designer paper squares. The squares are matted on larger whisper white and pretty in pink mats and a pretty in pink brad was attached in each corner. These matted layers were popped off a rose red cardbase with dimensionals.
