A Wild Rose for a Friend

The limited supply challenge on SCS was based on using only one flower stamp, no cuttlebug, no designer paper and no background stamps.  This was certainly a challenge for me!  I ended up using the Wild Rose set for this card because it hasn't seen any ink in eons. 

I randomly stamped the solid and detailed rose images in river rock ink on the large river rock mat.  I pulled bravo burgundy ink off the edges and then tied a piece of burgundy organdy ribbon around the lower 1/3 of this mat. 

I inked the "my dear, kind and wonderful friend" stamp from the All Holidays set with bravo burgundy ink and stamped it on a small whisper white mat. I pulled bravo burgundy ink off the edges of this mat and the corresponding river rock mat.  These two mats were adhered together and attached to a bravo burgundy mat.  I used dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment in the lower right corner of the large river rock mat, over the burgundy organdy ribbon.

I inked the solid rose image with bravo burgundy ink, stamped the image off and then stamped it on a piece of whisper white cardstock.  I inked the detailed rose image with bravo burgundy ink and stamped this image over the solid rose image.  Once the ink had dried, I cut the image out.

I inked the large solid leaf stamp in river rock ink, stamped it off and then stamped it on a piece of whisper white cardstock.  I inked the large detailed leaf stamp in river rock ink and then stamped it over the solid image.  I stamped three leaves all together and then cut them out and adhered them to the back of the rose image.

I pulled bravo burgundy ink off the large whisper white and river rock mats.  I adhered these mats on a large bravo burgundy mat and then attached them on the upper left corner of the large river rock mat.  I used dimensionals to attach the rose/leaves image on this mat.  The large river rock mat was adhered to a bravo burgundy card.

Wild Thing...You Make My Heart Sing

All right, this is my last post today, I promise! LOL  This card was inspired by the Wild Thing song.   I stamped the various images from the Wild About You set in various colors on whisper white cardstock.  I used the black marker to color their eyes in.  I punched the images out with the 1 3/8" square punch.  I created colorful mats for each image with my cuttlebug and nestabilties square dies.  These matted images where adhered to large mats of night of navy, bashful blue and pumpkin pie cardstock.  I tied a piece of apricot appeal grosgrain ribbon around the center of my large square mats and tied smaller pieces of night of navy, pumpkin pie and certainly celery ribbon around my orignal bow.

I created a sentiment mat with a certainly celery designer label, 1 3/8" pumpkin pie circle, 1 1/4" bashful blue circle and whisper white large oval.  I inked the "Wild About You" sentiment from the Wild About You set with night of navy ink and stamped it on the large oval mat.  I attached this mat on the center of my cardfront with dimensionals.

A Time to Every Purpose Under Heaven

This was a card that I created for my technique classes that I teach.  Sadly, it was inspired by the passing of my own mother.  I usually don't make sympathy cards but the event focused my attention to that aspect of life.

I stamped the large sage shadow mat with the cheesecloth background stamp that had been inked with elegant eggplant ink.  I pulled elegant eggplant ink off the edges of this mat.

The dragonfly image, from the Measure of a Life set, was inked with basic black ink and stamped on a piece of whisper white cardstock.  The image was watercolored with elegant eggplant and sage shadow ink.  I pulled sage shadow and elegant eggplant ink around the image and off the edges.  Crystal effects was applied to the wings and dazzling diamonds were sprinkled over it to create a shimmery, beautiful effect.  The image was then matted on a piece of sage shadow cardstock that had elegant eggplant sponged around the edges.  These were then matted on a piece of elegant eggplant cardstock and then attached with dimensionals on the large sage shadow mat.

I inked the "With Sympathy" sentiment from Warmest Regards with elegant eggplant ink and stamped the image a piece of whisper white cardstock.  I used the key tag punch to punch the image out and I pulled sage shadow and elegant eggplant around the image and off the the edges.  I used the key tag punch to punch another shape out of elegant eggplant cardstock. I created a mat by cutting the tag in half and then adhered the halves to each end of the whisper white key tag shape.  I used the rectangle punch to punch openings on the ends of the elegant eggplant mat and I used eggplant grosgrain ribbon to attach my matted sentiment to my cardfront.

Splish, Splash....I Was Taken a Bath

Today's SCS challenge was to find stamping inspiration in a song or stamp a card that was musically themed.  This is a card I made for a bella swap I participated in and it fits the challenge perfectly.  I just adore these bella stamps, they are so fun to work with.  You can purchase them at http://www.stampingbella.com/ .  Emily has some amazing designs and great products on her site.

I stamped the bubblebella image in basic black ink on whisper white cardstock. I used an aquapainter to color in the image with night of navy and soft sky ink.  I used the ticket corner punch to punch the corners of the small soft sky mat.  The dew drops are adhered to the cardstock with crystal effects.

The large soft sky mat was embossed using the cuttlebug and the tiny bubbles embossing folder.  The Warm Words sentiment was inked with night of navy ink, stamped on piece of whisper white cardstock and then punched out with the small oval punch.  It is matted on a large oval night of navy mat.

Shabby Carte Postale

This was my creation for today's SCS card sketch challenge.  It all started with going through my mounds of hoarded designer paper.  I focused on the piece of Enchante dp and built my card from there.

I stamped flourish image from the Carte Postale set in close to cocoa ink on a small sage shadow mat.  I pulled chocolate chip ink off the edges and then distressed them.  I matted this piece of cardstock on chocolate chip and added copper brads to each corner. 

I ticket corner punched the corners of the Enchante dp and pulled chocolate chip ink off the edges.  I stamped the "Mon Amie" sentiment in close to cocoa ink in the lower right corner.  The dp was matted with a distressed piece of sage shadow cardstock and a large chocolate chip mat.  Chocolate chip ink was pulled off the edges of the sage shadow mat and copper brads were added to the corners.

The large shadow mat was stamped with images from the Carte Postale stamp set in sage shadow and white craft ink.  I added a row of piercing to the top and bottom of the cardstock and distressed these two edges.  Chocolate chip ink was pulled off all edges of this mat and it was adhered to the chocolate chip card.  The small mats where adhered to the large sage shadow mat. 

I embossed the bird image from the Carte Postale set with white ep on the Enchante dp.  I cut the image out and used dimensionals to attach it in the center of the two panels on my cardfront.

Mixed Up Patterned Easter Chickie

Today's SCS challenge was to design a card with mixed patterns of designer paper.  I immediately thought of Easter and reached for the paisley and petals dp and the A Good Egg set.

I stamped the chickie image in basic black ink on a piece of whisper white cardstock.  I used the oval nestability die and cuttlebug to cut the image out. I used my aquapainter and so saffron ink to color his body and a pumpkin pie marker on his beak.  I stamped the image again on some dotted petals and paisley dp, cut the broken egg portion out and adhered it over the stamped egg image.  This image was matted with pretty in pink and so saffron concentric ovals and they were then layered on a scalloped oval mat of tempting turquoise.  White gel pen dots where add to each scallop.

I inked the "happy easter" sentiment from the A Good Egg set with a regal rose marker.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of whisper white carstock.  I used the small oval punch to punch the image out and then matted it on a large oval tempting turquoise mat.  I added a so saffron brad on each side of the sentiment.   

My mixed up pattern background consists of two different pattern papers from the petals and paisley designer paper series.  I added a strip of scalloped edged tempting turquoise along the midline.  A white gel pen dot accents each scallop.  The corners of the designer paper where punched with the ticket corner punch.  It was then layered on whisper white and tempting turquoise mats.  So saffron brads where attached in each ticket corner punched area and a piece of apricot appeal grosgrain ribbon was tied around the scalloped tempting turquoise strip.  The easter chickie and sentiments mats were attached to the front of the card with dimensionals.  These matted layers where then attached to the pretty in pink card with dimensionals.

Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge - Going Grey Ellie

Mary Jo (Mary Jo Albright) was the featured stamper for today's challenge.  Her gallery is fantastic and I finally settled on one of her cards to CASE and change a little bit.

I stamped the ellie stamp from the Wild About You set in going grey ink on scrap whisper white cardstock. I cut the image out.  I used the pretty in pink marker to color the ear on the stamp.  I stamped it, cut it out and pulled going grey ink of the edges of it.  I used a dimensional to attached it over the original ear.  I used the cuttlebug and square nestability die to created an embossed whisper white mat for the ellie.  I inked the flower stamp from this set with pretty in pink and certainly celery markers and stamped it on the right side of the mat.  The cut-out ellie was attached to the mat and it looks like he is holding the flower.  The embossed whisper white mat was matted on a scalloped square piece of basic grey cardstock. 

I inked the Print Pattern stamp set with going grey ink and stamped the image on the large going grey mat.  I used a white gel pen to add dot accents on this stamped pattern.  I distressed the edges of the mat with the cutter kit.  I used a sponge to pull basic grey off the edge and then matted it on a larger piece of pretty in pink cardstock.  Pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon was tied around the left side of the card.  I added the window word punched basic grey stamped sentiment "wild about you" to the pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon.  Piercing was done around the edges of the cardfront and smaller mats were adhered in the center of the pierced area.

Live, Laugh, Love - Embrace Life

Today's challenge on SCS was to use your own handwriting/printing in your card.  After numerous tries, I ended up creating my own sentiment - Live, Laugh, Love and I was pretty happy with the result.

I stamped the flower image from the Embrace Life set in basic black ink on whisper white cardstock three times.  I cut each image out, sponged groovy guava ink on the stamped images and then sponged ruby red ink in the center of the flowers.  I added depth to the edges of the petals with a ruby red marker.  I added white gel pen accents to the flowers and the cut them out.   The flowers were matted on whisper white, river rock and ruby red circles that I created from my cuttlebug and nestabilities dies.  A large groovy guava scalloped circle was added to complete the matting. 

I punched a large oval shape from whisper white cardstock and printed the sentiment "Live, Laugh, Love" in basic black marker.  I pulled groovy guava and ruby red ink of the edges of this oval and matted on a 1 1/4" ruby red circle, river rock label and a 1 3/8" groovy guava circle.  It needed some kind of embellishment so I pulled out my Pretties Kit and sponged groovy guava and ruby red ink of one of the small flowers.  I added the white center and attached it to the upper right corner of the sentiment.

The card base consists of a river rock card, a large mat of groovy guava cardstock with white gel pen dots in each corner and a tag punched piece of ginger blossom designer paper.  I tied a piece of river rock stitched ribbon around the groovy guava and ginger blossom mats and then attached these mats to my river rock cardbase.  I adhered the scalloped flower mat over the ribbon and attached the matted sentiment in the lower right corner of the my card.

Sparkly Jewel Easter Bunny Card

We had to create a window card for the challenge today on SCS.  It took awhile for me to come up with something, so I decided to focus on Easter.

I inked the bunny stamp from the Bunny Hugs set with basic black ink.  I stamped him on a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock, cut him out and added pink marker to his nose and ears. I adhered dazzling diamonds to the pink on his ears to give him some sparkle.  I inked the eggs from the same set with basic black ink, cut them out, colored them in with marker and added dazzling diamond accents to them.

I pierced a row along the top and bottom of the large whisper white mat, attached a smaller panel of petals and paisley dp and then matted these onto a scalloped edged mat of pretty in pink cardstock.  I added white gel pen dot accents to each scallop.  These mats were attached to a whisper white card.

I used the oval nestabilities die and my cuttlebug to punch out an oval window on the cardfront and mats.  I stamped the flower image from the Bunny Hugs set in basic black ink on the inside of my card to create a landscape.  I colored the flowers with markers and adhered the eggs and bunny over the flowered landscape.   I tied layered pieces of narrow white organdy and pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon to the right of the oval window.  I made a corresponding whisper white scalloped oval mat and adhered it around the oval window. I added some super cute gel-a-tins pink and white bling to each scallop to dress up my card.

I stamped the "happy easter" sentiment from the A Good Egg set with versamark on pretty in pink cardstock.  I embossed the image with detailed white embossing powder.  I used the small oval punch to punch the sentiment out and then matted it on a large whisper white oval mat.  I attached this oval matted sentiment to my ribbon.

Garden Whimsy Sketch Challenge

I made this Garden Whimsy card for today's sketch challenge on SCS.  I ink the swirled sentiment from the Garden Whimsy set with purely pomegranate ink and stamped this image on the lower half of a whisper white mat.  I inked the butterfly stamp from this set with groovy guava ink and then I rock'n'rolled the edges of the image in purely pomegranate ink.  I stamped the image above the swirled sentiment and then added piercing to the upper left and lower right corners using tools from the crafter's tool kit.  I pulled groovy guava and purely pomegranate ink off the edges of the mat. 

I punched a flower from groovy guava cardstock, pulled purely pomegranate ink off the ends of the petals and then added 2-way glue and dazzling diamonds to the center of the flower and to the dots on the wings of the butterfly.  I used the ticket corner punch to punch the corners of the groovy guava mat and then pulled purely pomegranate ink off the edges.  All three mats were adhered together and a white gel pen dot was added to each corner of the purely pomegranate mat.

The background on the small square groovy guava mat was created from the whimsy jumbo wheel.  I used the paper piercing tools from the crafter's tool kit to add piercing in the upper left and lower right corners.  I pulled purely pomegranate ink off the edges of this mat.  I adhered it to a ticket corner punched purely pomegranate mat.  This in turn was matted with a large square piece of groovy guava cardstock that also has the edges softened with purely pomegranate ink.  White gel pen dots were added to the corners of the large purely pomegranate mat.  A piece of purely pomegranate stitched ribbon was tied around the center of the card and the mats were adhered to the purely pomegranate cardbase.  The stamped butterfly image/mat was adhered to the front of the card with dimensionals.
