Petal Pizazz Heart Box

Sorry for the poor quality of my picture.  I can't seem to capture the true colors of my project.  The flowers look so dull but they are more vibrant then they appear in the picture.

I have been wanting to cover one of these PaperTrey Ink heart boxes since I saw Debbie Olson's box that she made last year.  Her post includes pictures and instructions on how to cover your own these boxes. 

I had every intention of using some kind of heart stamped images but I ended changing my mind and added layered Petal Pizazz images to my box lid instead.   I used dotted and striped rose red dp to cover the lid, sides and bottom of my box.  Three layered Petal Pizazz flowers where adhered in two locations on the top of the lid.  I added a pearl accent to the center of each flower to coordinate with the dotted dp.  There is a length of PTI sweet blush satin ribbon adhered around the side of the lid.  The ribbon ended up being a bit too wide so it projects above the rim but I like how it frames the top of the lid. 

I haven't decided whether this will be a Valentine's Day gift for the twin's teacher or maybe a teacher appreciation gift for early February.  I think we will probably fill it with some sweet treats for her!

Breezy Pacific Friend

Today's SCS color challenge was to use pacific point, baja breeze and garden green in your project.  I decided to make another layered Petal Pizazz flower for my card and I coupled it with the "My dear and kind wonderful friend" sentiment from the All Holidays set.

The layered flower is comprised of three flower stamps from the Petal Pizazz set stamped in pacific point and baja breeze inks.  I left white borders around each flower when I cut them out and then they were adhered to each other.  I added some garden green stamped leaves and a clear rhinestone to the flower center. 

I ticket corner punched the large baja breeze striped dp and whisper white mats.  There were adhered together and a border was pierced around the baja breeze mat.  I tied a length of whisper white taffeta ribbon around the lower half of these mats and used dimensionals to pop them off the pacific point cardbase.  I added a large clear rhinestone in each corner of the pacific point cardbase.

The sentiment was inked in pacific point ink and stamped on a small whisper white mat.  I layered this mat on larger baja breeze and pacific point mats.  It was adhered in the lower right corner of the striped dp mat and the layered flower was attached in the upper left corner.

Scallop Edge Folded Flower For You

These accordian folded flowers are so much fun to make.  If you haven't made one before you have to try it.  I added a scallop edging to the strip of dp before I scored and folded it. 

I started with a 1 1/2" strip of Bella Rose dp and punched the one edge with the scallop edge punch.  I trimmed the dp down to a 1" strip and then scored it at every 1/2".  I used sticky strip to adhere the two ends together and then formed the flower shape.  A 1" pink pirouette circle, with riding hood red pulled off the edges, was adhered over the center of the flower with sticky strip.   I free cut three leaves and scored them along the centerline and adhered them to the back of the flower.

I cut four small layers of pink pirouette, kiwi kiss, riding hood red and whisper white mats using the big shot and nestabilitie dies and adhered them together.  I stamped the "for you" sentiment in riding hood red ink in the lower left corner of the small pink pirouette mat.  I added three pierced dots behind the sentiment.  I adhered my accordian folded flower in the upper right corner of this mat. 

The larger pink pirouette dp mat was adhered to larger whisper white and kiwi kiss mats.  I pierced a border around the dp mat and tied a length of riding hood red taffeta ribbon around the larger mats.  The smaller mats were popped off the larger mats and off the riding hood red cardbase with dimensionals.

Always Yours

We had to use a black cardbase for today's SCS challenge . I ended up cheating a bit and using a sweet blush cardbase and a large basic black mat for my base of my cardfront.  I embossed the large black mat with the textile embossing folder to add some texture to my card.  I ticket corner punched each corner of this large mat.

The heart image from the Always set was inked with versamark ink and stamped on a scrap piece of sweet blush cardstock.  I embossed the image with black embossing powder, cut it out and then adhered it on scrap basic black cardstock and cut that image out.  I added a small filigree decorative brad to the embossed heart and a rhinestone to the center of the filigree. 

The heart is popped off layers of sweet blush and basic black cardstock and this matted layer is popped off the embossed black mat with dimensionals.  A length of sweet blush satin ribbon was tied around the layered mats and the basic black embossed mat.  The textile embossed mat was popped off the sweet blush cardbase and a black vintage brad was added to each corner of the cardbase.

Glittery Stripes of Thanks

Today's Way's to Use It challenge was to add some pizazz to your patterned paper.  I decided to use striped pacific point dp and add some glittery stripes to it.  I added lengths of sticky strip to the striped dp and then adhered dazzling diamonds to the sticky stripes. I matted this piece of dp on larger pacific point and whisper white mats.

The three layered flowers were created from the Petal Pizazz set and pacific point and baja breeze inks.  I cut the flowers out, leaving a white border around each flower and then layered them.  I added a clear rhinestone to the center of each flower.

The layered circle was made with the nestabilities dies and the Big Shot machine.  I adhered the circles together and stamped the "thanks" sentiment from the Thank You Kindly set in pacific point ink.  I used the 1/8" circle punch to punch a hole on each side of this layered circle and then I threaded a length of white organdy ribbon through them.  The circles are popped off the glittery striped mat with dimensionals and the ribbon was tied around the layered mats.  I attached the three flowers in place and then used dimensionals to pop the large layered mats off the pacific point cardbase.

Pearly Layered Petals

This was my contribution for today's sketch challenge on SCS.  The flower on my card was inspired by Jenn D's fabulous Petal Pizazz card that she posted yesterday.  

I stamped three different flowers from the Petal Pizazz set in rose red, pink pirouette and regal rose ink.  I cut the images out, leaving a white border around each one and adhered the centers to each other.  This left the petals free so I could slightly curl them forward.  I adhered three kiwi kiss stamped leaves from the same set behind the layered flower and I added a flat backed pearl from the pretties kit to the center of the blossom.

I created a large layered mat from kiwi kiss and rose red cardstock and pink pirouette dotted designer paper.  I ticket corner punched the two smaller mats and added a Hero Arts pearl to each corner of the large kiwi kiss mat.  These mats were adhered to the center of the pink pirouette cardbase.  A thin layered mat of the same three colors was attached in the upper left corner area of the cardfront and the layered blossom was popped off the cardfront with dimensionals.

The layered sentiment was created from various SU! punches and the "to You from me" sentiment from the retired set, Best Yet.  I added some regal rose sponging around the 1 1/4" circle and two small Hero Arts pearls on either side of the sentiment mat.

Dotted Friendship Ellie

Today's SCS color challenge was to use kiwi kiss, regal rose and bravo burgundy.  I don't think I have ever used that color combo before but I do like it.

I decided to pull out the ellie stamp from the Happy Heart Day set  and stamp the image on regal rose dotted dp.  I cut this image out and adhered it over the same image stamped on a whisper white mat.  I watercolored the heart flowers and the heart with bravo burgundy and kiwi kiss ink and I used the white gel pen to accent the ellie's nails.  This mat was adhered to larger regal rose, kiwi kiss and bravo burgundy mats.

I adhered three larger mats together - kiwi kiss, whisper white and the regal rose dotted dp from the sweet always dp pack.  Four buttons were attached to the right side of these large mats with a needle and some white embroidery floss.  These matted pieces of cardstock were popped off the bravo burgundy cardbase by dimensionals.  The matted ellie image was adhered the the left of the buttons.

Filigree Envelope Hearts

I have never used any of my filigree decorative brads so I thought I would pair them the Always set and create a Valentine's card with them.

The large whisper white and pretty in pink mat corners were punched using the ticket corner punch.  I stamped the branch and berries image and the dotted flower image from the Always set in pretty in pink ink on the large pretty in pink mat.  I added white gel pen dot accents to these images.  I added a pierced border around the edges of this mat.  The two mats were adhered together and popped off the chocolate chip cardbase with dimensionals. 

I stamped the "for you" sentiment from the All Holidays set in chocolate chip ink on scrap whisper white cardstock.  I used the small oval punch to punch the image out and then I pulled pretty in pink ink off the edges.  This small oval was adhered to a larger punched chocolate chip mat and adhered in the lower right corner of my cardfront.

I used the big shot and scallop envelope die to create a chocolate chip envelope for the focal point on my card.  I adhered a length of whisper white taffeta ribbon around this envelope.  I stamped the large heart from the Always set twice in chocolate chip ink on scrap pretty in pink cardstock.  I cut the images out and added white gel pen accents to them.   I decided to display one heart inside the envelope and the other on the outside. 

I inked the large flower image from the Always set with chocolate chip ink and stamped it on scrap whisper white cardstock.  I cut the image out and pulled pretty in pink ink off the edges.  I adhered it to the edge of the heart on the outside of the envelope and added a large filigree designer brad to the center of the flower image.  This heart was adhered to the front of envelope with dimensionals.   A white gel pen dot was added to each corner of the chocolate chip cardbase.

Not Quite Breezy Silhoutte Friends

I promise I won't make another scallop edge medallion card for awhile but I couldn't resist making one for today's color challenge.  I don't think I have ever thought of combing these colors before but I really love the way they look together.

My Pocket Silhouette image was inked with baja breeze ink and then I used the not quite navy marker to darken the stems and the tips of the blooms.  I stamped the image on a small whisper white mat and layered it on a small not quite navy mat.  The "friend" sentiment is from the Pocket Silhouette set.  I inked the "friend" portion of the stamp with a not quite navy marker and stamped it to the right of the flower image.

The scallope edge medallion is created by layering punched kraft, not quite navy and baja breeze scallop punched mats. The stamped image is adhered on the the scallop edge medallion.

I adhered the large striped baja breeze designer paper mat to the not quite navy mat and pierced a border around the dp layer.  I tied a length of kraft taffeta ribbon around the mats and popped them off the kraft cardbase with dimensionals.  The scallop edge medallion was popped off the designer paper mat with dimensionals.

Little Felt Flurries Genie Bag

Today's SCS featured stamper is Judy (JayDeKay on SCS). She is a fabulous stamper with great style and wonderful cards! 

Judy's top note genie bags were  some of the first ones I noticed on SCS and I thought they were so cute.  I love this adorable one by Judy. 

My top note genie bag has a layered felt flurry focal point instead of the sweet punched cardinal that Judy made.  I also changed the cardstock and added a layer of ski slope designer paper.  Judy used a circle punch to create a handle for her bag while mine was created using the large oval punch.  The ribbon treatment on our bags are also different.
